The Bakugan game played by children has been popular for a few years now. The game is promoted by an animated TV show that features the Bakugan Battle Brawlers. It is very similar in concept to Pokemon. People control Bakugan and have them fight one another. The game played by children is actually somewhat educational so as a toy for kids is actually pretty good. It is aimed at children 7 years old and above. Perhaps 6 years old would be okay too. The reason for this age restriction is that there are small pieces that could easily be choked on by younger kids who still put things in their mouths. Also to play the game properly a degree of arithmetic ability is required. During battles children have to add numbers together.

Anyone who has spent time watching soccer games in the 2010 World Cup being held in South Africa will surely have noticed the sound of vuvuzela horns in the background. These instruments are part of the footballing culture in South Africa and hundreds if not thousands of people blow into them during football games at the stadiums where matches are being played. To the people of that country, this is just the typical way that they show support for their teams. However for Europeans and other outsiders it is a completely new experience and is an unknown sound. Before I visited Japan myself I did not grasp how great rice could in fact be. The reason for this is because I had rice that had been cooked in a saucepan. Now it is of course achievable to produce rice that tastes good, in a pot. But to do so is actually harder than we might believe. While I was growing up I did not really like the rice I had very much. But you enjoy rice that is good every time you operate a Japanese rice cooking appliance. Have you ever wondered how people could eat so much rice? Before travelling round the Far East I used to think that rice was a dish that could only be eaten with a decent Indian curry. An oil filled radiator would be perfect for heating my apartment in Japan. The houses and apartments here are built with earth quakes and the summer in mind so during winter months it often feels freezing cold.
