Large Digital and Atomic Wall Clocks

Do you ever wish you could tell the time at various locations throughout the world all at once? If that is the case then it might be time you got your hands on a world clock like the Atomic World Globe with a dual display that has radio controlled local time and world which can be changed to any country by rotating the upper globe. It’s not a very large wall clock since it’s only about 6 inches high, so you may prefer the International Time Clock, which is a classic walnut finished piece with a large round face and roman numerals that display five time zones. You can set it to show your own local time along with four others, be they the traditional London, New York, Rome, Sydney and Tokyo or any other combination.

This device is not atomic or radio controlled but operates on battery power. It’s quite large, measuring 17 ½ inches in diameter and can be used for mounting indoors or even on a protected outside wall, and it’s a real bargain at just under $18. Just a tad fancier is the Regal World Time which also features five time zones: local, New York, London, Tokyo, and Hong Kong, and also has a rustic walnut wood and rope twist frame and is a little large at 18 inches in diameter.

International Atomic Clocks for Travel

Since atomic clocks are radio controlled from regional centers that emit a frequency to maintain almost perfect time, it is difficult to have a world or international style clock that will be connected simultaneously, mostly because the range of the frequency is not global but local. However there are alarm clocks that adjust or synchronize like the new International Atomic Alarm Clock which features Global Sync technology that receives signals from atomic clocks in England, Frankfurt, Germany and from Kyushu Island, Japan.

Since most atomic clocks are designed to set themselves in the region they are purchased, in the US for United State’s lower 48 states, and in Britain for the UK and in other parts of Europe for each area with a control. However this one is designed to connect to all the radio controls especially in Western Europe. The reviews of this ingenious clock are not too good, not because the clock isn’t well designed but because the unpredictability of automatic time connections to set the time automatically.

Large Digital Wall Clocks with 15+Time Zones

Large digital wall clocks can also display the time around the world like a regular world clock, but they must be attached in a different manner. For example there are Time Zone Clocks with digital lettering that display the time as well as the city, country or time zone below. These digital clocks can also be staggered in a sort of pyramid wall mount or set in a row with small labels as to which city or time zone the digits correspond to. Some of these digital panel clock models can display up to 15 or more cities or countries all in one unit. These clocks are fun additions to a home office or kitchen; however they are a uniquely designed digital clock primarily for use in government offices, embassies, consulates, airports, bus, train and ship departure terminals or travel agencies and hotels.
