No Survival Gun Needed – Survival Trapping Techniqes

In survival mode, you may need have to be in the woods for extended periods of time without your survival gun. If this is the case and you have already been able to provide yourself with shelter and water, you will inevitably need to get some food. While plants are the easiest type of food to get in the wild there are numerous ways to get meat and other wild game. In this article we will go over some simple types of traps one can make when dealing with being away from civilization. Many books can be found on constructing simple effective traps and these would be a good read for any survivalist.

One type of simple trap you can build out of raw materials in the woods is a snare trap. This type of trap consists of a secured piece of string, twine or vine which is looped into a noose. It should normally be hung on a animal path which is used frequently. Normally the animal won’t see the noose and will walk right into it. The noose will tighten around it’s neck and the animals instinct will be to try and run which will only make it tighter suffocating it.

A deadfall trap is another type of trap you should familiarize yourself when learning about survivalism. It normally works by placing a little bit of bait on a stick or twig that is set up to support a large log, stone or other weight. The stick with the bait is notched and set up with two other sticks (in the shape on the number four) as to where any movement of the bait stick will upset the whole structure enough to make it all topple. The weight above will fall and land on the animal underneath eating the bait. This type of trap is somewhat tricky to make but highly effective.
